The Bakery Operations Supervisor Trainee position is designed for individuals eager to develop their skills in bakery management. This role involves collaborating closely with the Bakery Department Manager to enhance operational expertise and prepare for a future leadership role within the bakery sector.

As a trainee, you will assist the Bakery Department Manager in establishing and maintaining high standards for customer service, employee engagement, cleanliness, sanitation, and overall department profitability.

Reporting Structure:
- Reports to: District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Operations, and Bakery Department Manager
- Supervises: Bakery Department Employees in the absence of the Department Manager

Primary Duties:
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and friendliness.
- Promote a welcoming atmosphere by motivating team members to engage with customers and provide exceptional service.
- Collaborate with the department manager while completing a training program focused on setting standards for service, employee relations, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of department staff.
- Develop weekly work schedules and daily operational plans for the bakery department.
- Monitor product displays and signage for quality and inventory levels, placing orders as necessary.
- Ensure accurate pricing and manage departmental bookkeeping tasks.
- Analyze sales data and trends to inform promotional strategies and inventory management.
- Conduct regular inventory assessments and plan product displays and promotions.

Customer Engagement:
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products.
- Provide support with heavy items and address customer inquiries and suggestions.
- Handle phone inquiries with professionalism and assist with product orders.

Operational Standards:
- Maintain proper storage conditions to ensure product freshness and minimize waste.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure maintenance is performed regularly.
- Adhere to hygiene and dress standards as per company policies.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist the Department Manager in ensuring competitive pricing strategies.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities.
- Support other store departments as needed and perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent experience, with 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy items, with physical exertion required for various tasks.
- Visual acuity for product quality assessment and safety compliance.

Work Environment:
- Exposure to varying temperatures and potential hazards associated with equipment and cleaning materials.

Equipment Utilized:
- Familiarity with bakery equipment, cash registers, and communication devices.
