Job Summary:

The Continuous Improvement Facilitator role is designed as a rotational assignment for employees to cultivate their knowledge of the Crane Business System (CBS) and enhance their leadership capabilities while contributing to vital continuous improvement initiatives at the site. This position strengthens our capacity to support CBS activities within our extensive and intricate operations while fostering a pipeline of skilled lean practitioners for key organizational roles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • CBS Tool Mastery: Acquire a comprehensive understanding of CBS tools, including Value Stream Mapping, Transactional Process Improvement, Material Replenishment, Standard Work for Flow, and Problem Solving.
  • Drive CBS Projects: Act as a project leader or provide support for cross-functional projects, Just-Do-It initiatives, and Kaizen events; collaborate with value stream and functional managers to facilitate roadmap execution aligned with strategic business objectives and continuous improvement.
  • KPIs: Aid in the effective implementation of Key Performance Indicator tools across the site; assist in identifying and resolving daily problems as indicated by KPIs.
  • Kaizen Events: Engage in and support Kaizen events throughout the site, ensuring thorough preparation and follow-up actions are completed.
  • 5S: Promote CBS 5S standards across the site through auditing and mentoring various functions.
  • Personal Development: Cultivate effective facilitation skills to lead Crane Kaizen events that yield sustainable breakthrough results.
  • CBS Administration: Support the CBS Manager with responsibilities such as tracking project improvements and managing SharePoint as necessary to meet site requirements.
  • Rotation: After 12-18 months, transition into another job assignment where the CBS knowledge gained can be utilized to address business needs.
  • Additional Tasks: Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor or management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year in a direct operations support role at Crane with proven success and self-motivation in driving continuous improvement; or for new hires, completion of 2+ internships in related fields, along with consistent leadership roles demonstrating success in continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with business processes in operations and supply chain, structured continuous improvement events, and basic project management techniques.
  • Skills/Abilities: Strong project management and organizational skills; excellent verbal and written communication abilities, including presentation skills and group facilitation; proficiency in business productivity tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, and Visio; demonstrated capability to lead and inspire cross-functional project teams; proven ability to drive process improvement with measurable business impact.
  • Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or obtained prior to transitioning into a Supervisor or Manager role.
  • Eligibility Requirement: This position may necessitate access to Controlled Data or Information. Only U.S. persons will be considered for roles requiring such access, in compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Working Conditions:

  • Standard working conditions typical of a manufacturing environment.
  • Normal office environment.
  • Potential exposure to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust, or fumes.
  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment, including but not limited to eye protection, gowns, masks, hearing protection, and other necessary PPE.
  • Assignment rotation of 12-18 months.
  • Standing: 10% of the time.
  • Sitting: 90% of the time.
  • Lifting: up to 20 pounds.
  • Pushing: up to 20 pounds.
  • Mental/Visual: use of computer.
  • Workspace: cubicle/desk.

Top Benefits:

Salary Range: $76,100 to $117,500. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some positions may qualify for performance-based bonus programs.
