The main duty of the Inspector is to verify that the guest accommodations are cleaned and sanitized in accordance with the Oxford Collection of hotels' cleanliness standards, ensuring they are ready for guests while adhering to safety protocols and security measures. This role involves inspecting the work of Housekeepers daily to guarantee that guest rooms are prepared for occupancy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: All tasks must be performed with exceptional care and genuine guest service, maintaining the standards and culture of the Oxford Collection of hotels at all times.
  • Room Inspections (70%): This role entails inspecting all rooms assigned to Housekeepers in their designated section of the hotel daily as they become available, notifying Housekeepers of any issues requiring attention. Maintain an inventory of guestroom and housekeeping supplies. Monitor Housekeepers' progress throughout their shifts, ensuring carts are adequately stocked (during and at the end of each shift), assisting with bed-making, transporting restaurant trays to the kitchen, vacuuming, distributing linens and towels, or performing other housekeeping tasks to meet daily production goals. Communicate the availability of ready rooms promptly. Return in-room coffee pots daily to the housekeeping office for cleaning and replace them in the guestroom. Submit maintenance reports/requests to the Maintenance Department. Assist housekeeping management in preparing weekly standards. Provide training to new hires and ongoing training for all staff.

    Perform all duties in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, food safety, sanitation requirements, and Oxford Collection of hotels' safety and security protocols. Be knowledgeable and prepared to respond to emergency situations. Report any maintenance issues immediately to the supervisor or General Manager.
  • Guest Interaction (20%): Engage with and acknowledge guests. Address guest complaints and requests regarding room services, ensuring appropriate follow-up. Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and sensitivity when interacting with both internal and external guests.
  • Additional Duties (10%): Communicate effectively with all hotel staff to ensure seamless service delivery.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in hospitality or hotel operations preferred.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and often exert up to 20 pounds of force to move objects.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces occasionally.
  • While primarily an indoor position, must be able to walk outside in various weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat).
  • Must be able to climb stairs both indoors and outdoors in different weather conditions.
