Job Overview

Position Purpose

The primary objective of this role is to deliver practical engineering assistance to the Advanced Machining Center, ensuring the production of superior machine components for the medical device sector.

This position will spearhead initiatives for continuous enhancement, document and implement manufacturing methodologies, devise engineering solutions for machining challenges, and facilitate the introduction of new products, processes, and machinery.

Key Responsibilities


Collaborate with Research & Development (GRD), Project Engineering, Operations, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and other essential departments to initiate and support manufacturing processes at the advanced machining center.

  • Design tooling and fixtures, including conducting qualification activities.
  • Provide support for existing machinery and processes, including troubleshooting and validation.
  • Manage the insourcing of new components.
  • Select equipment and infrastructure, including qualification activities (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Develop product line and work center layouts for machining operations.
  • Implement improvements in flow and quality before, during, and after the launch of serial production.
  • Propose and implement cost-saving strategies.
  • Prepare Engineering Change Orders.
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Technical or Engineering field.
  • Experience in process development and automation of existing CNC machining operations.
  • Knowledge of machining, including CNC programming, tooling, and techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, utilizing methodologies such as SSGB/SSBB, A3, DMAIC, and Kaizen.
  • Identification, design, and qualification of equipment, tooling, and fixtures.
  • Conduct Capital Expense ROI assessments and proposals.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office, particularly in data analytics focused on process yield monitoring and enhancement.
  • Experience in a machining or industrial equipment setting, driving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) as a key performance indicator.
  • Proficient in using Solidworks for technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Experience collaborating with international teams, with a willingness to travel globally.
  • Knowledge of integrating collaborative robots into existing manufacturing workflows.
  • Understanding of machine monitoring and learning technologies.
  • Experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Background in Quality Control and Inspection processes.
  • Experience with HMI/SCADA programming.
