Karpel Computer Systems Inc is in search of a dedicated IT Systems Specialist to enhance our technology team. In this position, you will be instrumental in delivering extensive support for our clients' desktop, server, and cloud infrastructures, alongside Microsoft 365 services and products. Your efforts will ensure that clients experience minimal disruptions and optimal computing performance through effective remote and on-site monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Azure Active Directory.
  • Establish and uphold Microsoft 365 security protocols and best practices, such as Multi-Factor Authentication and conditional access.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to Windows desktops, servers, Microsoft 365, software, networks, and infrastructure.
  • Document and maintain system configurations, procedures, and standards meticulously.
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls within Active Directory.
  • Conduct system administration tasks, including patch management, updates, and configuration oversight.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues.
  • Configure, oversee, and validate regular system backups to ensure data integrity and recovery capabilities.
  • Analyze incoming emails for potential phishing threats and educate users on email security best practices.
  • Collaborate with fellow IT professionals and vendors to ensure seamless integration of systems and services.
  • Engage in ongoing training and pursue manufacturer certifications to enhance your technical expertise.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients to foster our company's positive reputation through exceptional customer service.
  • Develop personal skills to work efficiently both independently and as part of the Technical Services team.
  • Accurately record time spent on problem resolution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in supporting Microsoft 365 administration and services.
  • At least 3 years of experience in supporting Windows operating systems on desktops and laptops.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 applications, services, and devices, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Azure AD, Intune, and Autopilot.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Virtual servers, Hyper-V, Scale, and VMware virtualization.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting, configuring, and supporting Active Directory environments from small to enterprise levels.
  • Experience in implementing and managing enterprise switches, firewalls, routers, and wireless access systems.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts, computer components, LAN/WAN, browsers, and mobile devices.
  • Willingness to travel between sites as required for projects or on-site tasks.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to conduct work with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service and the ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated professional and empathetic behavior in resolving both routine and complex customer issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives in a fast-paced, technical environment.
  • Highly self-motivated and organized with a keen attention to detail.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with ConnectWise Manage and ConnectWise Command is a plus.
  • Managed Services experience is advantageous.
  • Relevant technical certifications are beneficial.
