Position Overview:

As a Control Systems Specialist at Barry-Wehmiller, you will become part of a dynamic team that will challenge your skills and facilitate your professional growth. Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will collaborate with a team of specialists to assist top-tier companies in addressing their most complex challenges. You will be involved in our Control System Integration Practice, working alongside experienced leaders and technical experts to deliver exceptional solutions with precision and reliability.
  • Proactive and organized Control Systems Specialist responsible for developing and designing control systems for clients in sectors such as food & beverage, consumer health, life sciences, and advanced technology.
  • Utilize expertise in instrumentation devices, control systems, networking, P&ID diagrams, data sheets, and installation drawings to engineer solutions that surpass client expectations for safety and efficiency.
  • Lead instrumentation and control design throughout the preliminary and detailed phases of projects.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of systems and facilities.
  • Develop innovative engineering solutions aimed at optimizing equipment performance.
  • Design monitoring systems for critical parameters such as pressure, temperature, humidity, and flow within manufacturing settings.
  • Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for assigned projects.
  • Document process specifications for instrumentation utilized in system designs.
  • Exhibit current knowledge of best practices in design concepts.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering teams and client representatives.
  • Make a significant impact daily through your expertise, enhancing relationships with clients and team members.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in instrumentation and control design for project programming phases.
  • Familiarity with Rockwell Automation hardware and software.
  • Experience working with Mechanical, Electrical, and Process (MEP) systems alongside MEP engineers and technicians.
  • Involvement in large-scale capital projects collaborating with Owners, General Contractors, and System Integrators.
  • Strong understanding of Design/Build (Engineering and Construction) methodologies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of complex process systems architecture, instrumentation, device selection, networking, PLC & I/O architectures, P&IDs, data sheets, and SCADA systems.
  • Experience in various industrial environments, including Dry/Wet Mechanical, AWN, Gas/Chem Distribution, HVAC, and Clean Room controls, is advantageous.
  • Proficient in both written and verbal technical communication, including report generation and group presentations.
  • Willingness to travel as required for project needs, including installation, start-up activities, client meetings, and industry events.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • A degree focused on process control and instrumentation or equivalent experience in relevant manufacturing sectors will be considered.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is a plus.
