About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Deli Associate to join our team at Clark's Market. As a Deli Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, preparing and serving deli products, maintaining a clean and organized deli area, and adhering to food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet Customers Warmly: Greet customers warmly and assist them with their deli selections.
  • Answer Customer Inquiries: Answer customer inquiries about deli products, ingredients, and preparation methods.
  • Handle Special Requests: Handle special requests and custom orders efficiently and accurately.
  • Prepare Deli Items: Slice, cut, weigh, and package various deli meats, cheeses, and prepared foods.
  • Ensure Food Safety: Follow all food safety guidelines and store policies to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Clean and Sanitize: Clean and sanitize deli equipment, counters, and utensils regularly.
  • Monitor Inventory: Monitor inventory levels and notify the Deli Manager when supplies need to be reordered.
  • Stock and Replenish: Stock and replenish deli cases and displays as needed.
  • Assist with Inventory Counts: Assist with inventory counts and maintaining accurate records.
  • Safely Operate Equipment: Safely operate deli equipment such as slicers, ovens, and scales.
  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and report any equipment malfunctions to the Deli Manager.
  • Work Collaboratively: Work collaboratively with other deli associates and store staff to ensure efficient operations.
  • Assist with Training: Assist with training new deli associates as required.
  • Support Other Departments: Support other departments as needed, especially during peak hours.
  • Adhere to Store Policies: Adhere to all store policies and procedures, including those related to safety, sanitation, and food handling.
  • Comply with Regulations: Comply with local, state, and federal regulations regarding food safety and health standards.
Qualifications
  • Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a deli, food service, or retail environment is a plus.
  • Customer Service Skills: Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Food Safety Knowledge: Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Food handler's certification preferable.
