About the Role

Clark's Market is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Deli Associate to join our team. As a Deli Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, preparing and serving deli products, maintaining a clean and organized deli area, and adhering to food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Greet customers warmly and assist them with their deli selections, answer customer inquiries about deli products, ingredients, and preparation methods, and handle special requests and custom orders efficiently and accurately.
  • Deli Operations: Slice, cut, weigh, and package various deli meats, cheeses, and prepared foods, prepare sandwiches, salads, and other deli items according to established recipes and customer preferences, and ensure all deli products are presented attractively and are properly labeled with prices and ingredients.
  • Food Safety and Sanitation: Follow all food safety guidelines and store policies to maintain a clean and safe working environment, clean and sanitize deli equipment, counters, and utensils regularly, and ensure proper storage and rotation of deli products to prevent spoilage and waste.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and notify the Deli Manager when supplies need to be reordered, stock and replenish deli cases and displays as needed, and assist with inventory counts and maintaining accurate records.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other deli associates and store staff to ensure efficient operations, assist with training new deli associates as required, and support other departments as needed, especially during peak hours.
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in a deli, food service, or retail environment is a plus.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Food handler's certification preferable.
