Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to join our Engineering Services Division at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, in West Bethesda, MD. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to our team, working on world-class military programs that support the US Navy's Warfare technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the technical team with government procurements, shipping, inventory tracking, and other logistics.
- Prepare a variety of documents, including memorandums, letters, reports, and presentations.
- Review correspondences prepared by others for content, format, and grammar.
- Maintain management calendars, meetings, and appointments.
- Support travel arrangements and claims, and timekeeping systems.
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree plus a minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word).
- Ability to plan, organize, and execute logistical support for meetings, seminars, workshops, conferences, or training classes.
- Knowledge of Navy correspondence rules and regulations, Defense Travel System (DTS), and web-based timekeeping systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
- A self-starter able to work individually or as part of a team and pay attention to details.
Additional Requirements:
- Candidate must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance or favorable adjudication of a national security background investigation.
