Position Overview

The Tactical Operations Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless integration of crime prevention and public safety services between law enforcement field operations and the real-time tactical operations center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize analytical methods to assess raw data, providing law enforcement with real-time situational awareness.
  • Conduct assessments focused on intelligence-led policing for significant criminal activities.
  • Communicate critical situational updates and virtual patrol insights to field units.
  • Gather and report on the progress and situations from field supervisors and District Commanders.
  • Oversee telecommunications and field operations to ensure adherence to emergency response protocols.
  • Execute priority surveillance tasks, particularly concerning officer safety and ongoing incidents.
  • Evaluate patrol activities to ensure alignment with crime prevention strategies and response to emerging crime trends.
  • Monitor field unit responses to public safety emergencies in real-time.
  • Integrate and assess various information types from investigative and operational activities to generate leads.
  • Analyze resource utilization metrics and the effectiveness of crime prevention efforts.
  • Perform additional related duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Information Management Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.

Note: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with crime prevention strategies and emergency response operations.
  • Proficiency in computer systems utilized for real-time monitoring and data analysis in law enforcement.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for preparing reports and findings for command-level officers.
  • Ability to present information clearly and concisely.
  • Capacity to effectively represent the organization in interactions with law enforcement and intelligence communities.
