Purchasing Manager/Inventory Control Specialist

Harborview Medical Center, a leading healthcare institution, has an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Manager/Inventory Control Specialist.

Job Summary

The Purchasing Manager/Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the procurement and inventory management of food and supplies for all department areas. This includes sourcing new products, placing equipment orders, maintaining relationships with vendors, and ensuring timely delivery of goods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Purchase food and supplies for all department areas, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Manage inventory levels, including par tracking, stocking workflow, and applying Lean principles for sustainability and waste minimization.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, negotiating prices and ensuring timely delivery of goods.
  • Oversee the hiring and scheduling of stockroom team members, including approval of leave requests and schedule maintenance.
  • Track and analyze data related to department finance, sustainability, and safety metrics.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives related to purchasing and storeroom workflow.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 2-3 years of direct purchasing experience.
