The Amazon Fresh Grocery division is in search of an Inventory Control/Supply Chain Manager based in Seattle WA or New York.
We are seeking an Inventory Control Manager (ICM) to enhance the Private Brands category. As an individual contributor, you will be responsible for formulating business strategies and managing supply chain and inventory operations. You will spearhead cross-departmental initiatives aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction and optimizing the overall cost structure of the business.
This position entails overseeing inventory management for an Amazon Fresh Private Brands category across both Online and In-Store platforms.
Key responsibilities include implementing inventory strategies to maximize customer satisfaction, sales, profit margins, and inventory turnover. The ideal ICM will strive to achieve a balance between high inventory availability and minimizing waste/expiration. They will conduct audits and, when necessary, delve into the fundamental causes of inventory availability and waste performance. Proactively identifying opportunities for tool and workflow enhancements will be essential.This role closely collaborates with retail and operational partners throughout Amazon and is crucial to the expansion of Amazon Grocery.
The successful candidate will effectively communicate across various teams and levels while balancing the needs and expectations of both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Job Responsibilities
Manage inventory availability and health, including: improved stock levels, inventory forecasting, vendor operational enhancements (efficiency, fill rates, lead times), and waste reduction.
Drive strategic initiatives across functions to enhance customer satisfaction and the overall cost structure of the business.
Conduct complex business analyses to uncover opportunities for revenue and profitability improvements.
Collaborate with internal teams to develop tools, automation, and process enhancements that impact purchasing and vendor management workflows.
Note:
This is a Hybrid role, requiring an ICM to be on-site at least 3 days/week in one of our Amazon Fresh corporate offices.
A Day in the LifeDaily
Oversee daily operations to ensure accurate distribution of purchase orders to vendors and smooth inventory flow through internal Distribution Centers and third-party distributors.
WeeklyConduct a deep dive into weekly performance metrics to identify root causes and corrective actions for key misses in inventory availability and waste objectives. Manage strategic projects and initiatives aimed at improving metrics, automation, scalability, or efficiency within the role or organization.
Monthly
Support Quarterly Business Reviews with Vendor Management, focusing on communicating vendor performance, identifying gaps, and initiatives to enhance product availability and sales.
About the TeamThis role reports to a Manager of Inventory Control (MICM) and collaborates with several ICMs within the assigned category.
Each ICM is assigned a specific set of SKUs within the category based on their expertise and the complexity of the SKUs, their supply chain, and supply base.
This role is part of the Perishables inventory management vertical, where multiple MICMs and ICM teams face similar challenges related to short shelf-life grocery products.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 3+ years of experience with Excel
- 4+ years of experience in supply chain, inventory management, or project management
- Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience
- Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across various US geographic markets.The base pay for this position ranges from $66,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $141,100/year in our highest geographic market.
Compensation is based on several factors, including market location, and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
