Job Overview

Summary:
We are in search of a Quality Control Specialist to join our dynamic team at Machinists Incorporated. This position involves the meticulous assessment and documentation of incoming materials, in-process evaluations, and final inspections of sophisticated prototypes and custom components across various sectors, including Aerospace, Naval, Energy Production, and Research & Development. A keen eye for detail, numerical accuracy, and the ability to methodically address potential issues are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized knowledge in Quality Control for CNC-manufactured components, assemblies, and intricate tooling.
  • Employ advanced inspection tools such as CMM, Romer Arms, Faro Arms, along with relevant software like PCDMIS and PolyWorks.
  • Conduct manual inspections utilizing precision instruments including micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
  • Develop and evaluate technical documentation pertaining to the Receiving, In-process, and Final inspection of materials, processes, and finished products.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, drawings, and purchase orders.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to devise strategies aimed at enhancing accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in a prototype machining environment.
  • Proficient understanding of mathematical concepts, including trigonometry and geometry.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Skilled in utilizing all measurement tools and machinery within a manufacturing context.
  • Able to interpret blueprints and technical drawings for high-precision components.
  • Proactive in proposing ideas to enhance departmental efficiency and productivity.
