Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatrist (Per Diem) to join our team at the State of Connecticut, Department of Developmental Services. As a Psychiatrist (Per Diem), you will be responsible for providing psychiatric care to individuals in need, working in a state facility. This is a per diem position, requiring a minimum of 16 hours per week, with specific hours including Thursdays from 1:00pm-4:30pm for PRC presentations and one day per month for out-patient psychiatric clinic on-site coverage.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat individuals with psychiatric needs
  • Conduct intellectual and physical evaluations
  • Develop and implement treatment plans
  • Prescribe medications and therapies as needed
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
Requirements
  • License to practice medicine and surgery issued by the Connecticut Department of Public Health
  • Completion of at least one year of residency program experience in psychiatry approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Experience using Microsoft Applications, including Word, Excel, and Teams
