Key Responsibilities

Directs the functions of the Sanitation, Maintenance, Packaging, and Production Departments within the facility, ensuring optimal efficiency and effectiveness in producing high-quality, cost-effective bakery products while maintaining the highest safety and sanitation standards.

Oversees daily operations of the Sanitation, Maintenance, Packaging, and Production teams by:

Fostering continuous development and mentoring of the supervisory staff, assessing their performance, and implementing corrective measures as necessary.

Ensuring the facility is adequately staffed and that personnel are trained to meet production demands, safety protocols, sanitation requirements, and productivity objectives.

Setting quality and efficiency benchmarks for operations and spearheading initiatives aimed at enhancing quality and operational efficiency.

Monitoring production metrics such as yields, waste, and material consumption to guarantee efficient resource allocation and taking corrective actions when needed.

Evaluating production workflows and implementing adjustments to ensure smooth product movement.

Reviewing financial performance, analyzing Production Summaries against budgetary expectations, and initiating corrective actions as necessary.

Scheduling management personnel in alignment with company policies to effectively utilize their skills and expertise.

Continuously assessing manufacturing costs and proposing or endorsing changes to sustain or reduce expenses.

Coordinating the scheduling of product manufacturing to ensure timely delivery of the freshest products available.

Supervising the establishment and execution of process controls to guarantee the consistent production of quality bakery items.

Managing the Maintenance Department's activities to minimize disruptions and maximize the efficiency of production equipment.

Overseeing the Sanitation Department's operations to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and customer-specific requirements.

Qualifications:

  1. Experience: At least 5 years in a managerial capacity within a commercial bakery or food manufacturing setting, demonstrating success in leading production teams and enhancing operational performance.
  2. Education: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Food Scientist, Six Sigma) are preferred.
  3. Technical Skills: Comprehensive understanding of bakery production processes, equipment, and technology, with the capability to troubleshoot and implement effective solutions. Proficient in MS Office and ERP/MRP systems.
  4. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and build teams, inspiring and empowering employees to achieve shared objectives. Experience in performance management, coaching, and talent development.
  5. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, utilizing a data-driven approach to decision-making and continuous improvement.
  6. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  7. Adaptability: Capacity to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adjusting to shifting priorities and business needs.
  8. Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA), quality standards (e.g., GMP, HACCP), and industry best practices.
  9. Results Orientation: Strong business insight, focused on achieving targets related to production output, quality, cost management, and customer satisfaction.
  10. Problem-Solving Skills: Proactive in identifying challenges and implementing effective solutions to enhance processes and performance.
