Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Team Lead to join our team at Barry Callebaut. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of your assigned shift, ensuring efficient equipment operation, and providing adequate personnel training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Shift Operations: Coordinate work activities for hourly and temporary employees, support efficient equipment operation, and provide adequate personnel training.
  • Sanitation and Maintenance: Organize the day-to-day operations of the shift, including assignment of sanitation duties, machine troubleshooting, and reassignment of team members as needed.
  • Team Development: Coach and support each team member, facilitate brief team meetings, and conduct employee and temporary employee work assessments.
  • Cross-Training: Assign or complete cross-training activities for shift personnel to enable them to work in production areas.
  • Coordination and Communication: Confer with team production leads to coordinate operations and activities within or between work areas.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete all shift paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Enforcement of Policies: Enforce company policies, safety standards, GMP standards, and HACCP.
  • Quality Control: Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect and document defects, malfunctions, and questions.
  • Production Orders: Confirm production orders in SAP, if needed.
  • Process Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements on assigned areas.
  • Training and Development: Participate in process improvement training, safety training, or committee work.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalency and a minimum of two years of appropriate supervisory experience in a food-manufacturing environment. Associate's degree preferred.
  • Language Skills: Proficient English language skills, both written and oral.
  • Computer Knowledge: Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP (helpful).
  • Soft Skills: Teamwork and Cooperation, Flexibility, Self-control, Self-confidence, Organizational Commitment, Interpersonal understanding and Relationship building, Initiative, and Developing Others.
