Key Responsibilities

Oversees the operations of the Sanitation, Maintenance, Packaging, and Production Departments within the facility, ensuring optimal efficiency and effectiveness in producing high-quality, cost-effective bakery products while maintaining the highest safety and sanitation standards.

Manages daily activities of the Sanitation, Maintenance, Packaging, and Production teams by:

Continuously developing and mentoring the supervisory team, evaluating their performance, and implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Ensuring the plant is adequately staffed and trained to meet production requirements, safety protocols, sanitation standards, and productivity objectives.

Establishing operational quality and efficiency benchmarks and leading initiatives for improvement.

Monitoring production output, including yields, scrap, and material usage, to ensure effective resource utilization and initiating corrective measures as needed.

Analyzing production workflows and implementing corrective actions to enhance product flow efficiency.

Overseeing budget adherence by monitoring expenses and reviewing production summaries, taking corrective actions as necessary.

Scheduling managerial personnel in alignment with company policies to best leverage their skills and expertise.

Continuously assessing manufacturing costs and recommending or implementing changes to maintain or reduce expenses.

Supervising the scheduling of product production to ensure timely delivery of the freshest products possible.

Overseeing the development and execution of process controls to guarantee the consistent production of quality bakery items.

Managing the Maintenance Department's activities to minimize interruptions and maximize equipment efficiency.

Supervising the Sanitation Department's operations to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and customer-specific requirements.

Qualifications:

  1. Experience: At least 5 years in a managerial position within a commercial bakery or food manufacturing setting, demonstrating success in leading production teams and driving operational excellence.
  2. Education: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Food Scientist, Six Sigma) are preferred.
  3. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of bakery production processes, equipment, and technology, with the capability to troubleshoot and implement solutions. Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/MRP systems is essential.
  4. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and build teams, inspiring and empowering employees to achieve shared goals. Experience in performance management, coaching, and talent development is required.
  5. Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making and continuous improvement.
  6. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  7. Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adjust to changing priorities and business needs.
  8. Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA), quality standards (e.g., GMP, HACCP), and industry best practices.
  9. Results Orientation: Strong business acumen with a focus on achieving targets for production output, quality, cost control, and customer satisfaction.
