Job Overview

Under general oversight, oversee the entire product lifecycle encompassing sourcing, marketing, new product innovation, sales assistance, and financial advancement of designated products within a small or independent business unit. Collaborate with and educate sales teams to ensure they can effectively promote products to clients. This role may include direct reports at the managerial level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in pricing negotiations with suppliers for raw materials and finished products. Visit suppliers to develop products and train staff on all aspects of each product and its applications. Coordinate materials with suppliers and create customized finished items.
  • Formulate and execute detailed marketing strategies and promotional initiatives for existing products, including product strategy formulation, pricing strategy, marketing collateral development, and brand stewardship.
  • Analyze monthly financial performance and identify contributing factors. Propose solutions for adverse sales or cost trends. Prepare product forecasts that encompass revenue and expense expectations. Evaluate sales trends over time and the impact of competitive tactics. Support forecasts and budgets with thoroughly detailed marketing strategies.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Engineering teams to minimize Cost of Goods by evaluating packaging, alternative materials, new material sources, inventory management, and direct-to-customer shipments. Manage inventory with a focus on reducing surplus and optimizing SKU counts.
  • Create and deliver training materials for internal stakeholders, sales teams, and customers. Develop sales tools.
  • Conduct thorough market research and translate findings into new products, product enhancements, or line extensions by leading a cross-functional team.
  • Accompany sales teams to assist in converting clients to purchase Medline products. Provide prompt follow-up to sales teams by addressing product inquiries via email and phone.
  • Develop and guide staff through onboarding, open communication, training, and performance management processes; foster employee morale and motivation; ensure the team is adequately staffed with necessary competencies.

Required Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree.

Professional Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, sales, product management, or clinical practice within the healthcare sector.
  • Experience in negotiating with external suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience in gathering and analyzing financial data.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% for business purposes.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
