Patient Access Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Access Associate to join our team at LCMC Health. As a Patient Access Associate, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Greet patients, guests, and family members, and schedule appointments with the appropriate provider, location, and time.
- Analyze patient information to determine or create an account for patients presenting for services, including walk-in, non-scheduled, and emergency services.
- Register patients by entering accurate demographic, financial class, insurance information, and revise errors.
- Initiate bed placement, reservation, transfer, and/or discharge based on requests from clinical providers and case management.
- Assist patients with understanding their financial obligations, setting up payment arrangements, and completing financial assistance applications.
- Complete the registration and admissions process, ensuring all required forms are completed and accurate.
- Request and document patient demographic, insurance, guarantor, MSP, and PCP/Referring Physician information, validating against current system.
- Perform insurance verification by running automated eligibility response at point-of-service to ensure active coverage.
- Contact case management and/or provider to assist with department placement for clinical services.
- Inform patients/guarantors of liability due, including prior balances and estimates for scheduled services, and collect payment if possible.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide exceptional customer service.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
