About the Role:

The Executive Pastry Chef is responsible for the overall success of the daily pastry operations. This individual will lead the pastry team and manage all pastry-related functions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage pastry shift operations and ensure compliance with all Food & Beverage policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Estimate daily production needs on a weekly basis and communicate production needs to pastry personnel daily.
  • Assist the Executive Chef with all pastry operations and preparation.
  • Prepare and cook a variety of pastry items, either on a regular basis or for special guests or functions.
  • Develop and implement new pastry applications, ideas, and relationships.
  • Maintain purchasing, receiving, and pastry storage standards.
  • Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards.
  • Perform all duties of pastry managers and employees as necessary.
  • Recognize and maintain superior quality pastry products, presentations, and flavor.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Follow proper handling and storage of all pastry products.
  • Operate and maintain all department equipment and report malfunctions.
  • Check the quality of raw and cooked pastry products to ensure that standards are met.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED; 4 years of experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
  • OR
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years of experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
