About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Development Director to join our team at Jefferson Community Foundation. As a key member of our staff, you will play a critical role in driving our fundraising efforts and building relationships with donors, funders, and community partners to make a meaningful impact in Jefferson County.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to increase operating funds to over $1 million annually
  • Collaborate with the CEO and staff to cultivate and solicit individual donors, major gifts, grants, and planned giving programs
  • Build and lead a development team to support fundraising goals and priorities
  • Develop and maintain a robust annual fund, including honing our major gifts strategies
  • Optimize and streamline development messaging, reporting, and forecasting
  • Build relationships with local, regional, and national foundations
  • Manage internal systems to support fundraising and relationship management efforts
  • Provide clear performance goals, reporting, and forecasting to the JCF leadership team and board
Requirements
  • Proven track record of successful fundraising experience, with a focus on individual giving, major gifts, and grants
  • Strong analytical skills to oversee an effective donor database and leverage donor data for strategy development and monitoring progress toward goals
  • Experience with building and leading a development team to effectively support fundraising goals and priorities
  • Ability to craft and communicate an inspiring case for support to individual donors and grant funders
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous learning, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively engaging in fruitful conversations with colleagues and community members
