Position Overview

The role of a Welder involves the fabrication and repair of various metal structures and components, ensuring the application of appropriate welding techniques and the use of specialized equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute tasks such as sanding, grinding, cutting, and welding on company assets while adhering to safety protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Perform post-welding grinding on metal components.
  • Utilize MIG and Arc welding machinery to join steel parts.
  • Construct steel elements for containers.
  • Maintain a tidy and safe workspace in accordance with company and OSHA guidelines.
  • Complete necessary documentation using the company's computer systems.
  • Employ standard hand tools and measuring instruments effectively.
  • Utilize plasma cutters or torches for metal cutting.
  • Engage in related tasks such as flame cutting, bending, and forming metal and plastic materials.
  • Install lids and wheels on containers as required.
  • Apply paint to both repaired and newly fabricated containers.
  • Assist in various projects or areas of the workshop as needed.
  • Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and collaboration with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Physical capability to meet job demands, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and working in confined spaces.
  • Strong welding skills and mechanical understanding.
  • Proficiency in MIG/ARC and stick welding techniques.
  • Experience with cutting torches and plasma cutting tools.
  • Familiarity with small shop equipment.
  • Ability to operate forklifts safely.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to typical noise, heat, dust, and fumes found in a fabrication environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license, if applicable.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment assessments.
  • Proficiency in reading and speaking English.
