As a Welder, you will play a crucial role in the fabrication and repair of various metal structures and components. Your expertise will ensure that our fleet vehicles and containers are constructed and maintained to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute sanding, grinding, cutting, and welding tasks on company equipment while adhering to safety regulations and company policies.
- Perform post-welding grinding on metal parts to achieve a smooth finish.
- Utilize MIG and Arc welding techniques to join steel components effectively.
- Fabricate steel parts for containers and other structures as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in accordance with OSHA and company standards.
- Complete necessary documentation using the company’s computer systems.
- Employ standard hand tools and measuring instruments for precise work.
- Cut steel using plasma cutters or torches as needed.
- Engage in related tasks such as flame cutting, bending, and notching of metal and plastic materials.
- Install components such as lids and wheels on containers.
- Apply paint to newly repaired or fabricated containers.
- Assist in various projects within the shop as required.
- Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and collaboration with colleagues and management.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Physical capability to meet job demands, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and working in confined spaces.
- Strong welding skills and mechanical understanding.
- Proficient in MIG/ARC welding techniques.
- Experience with cutting torches and plasma cutters.
- Familiarity with small shop tools and equipment.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to typical conditions found in a fabrication or repair facility, including noise, heat, and dust.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Possession of a valid driver's license is required if applicable.
- Successful completion of pre-employment assessments is mandatory.
- Proficiency in reading and speaking English is essential.
