Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Production Assistant to join our team at Barrett Petfood Innovations. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assisting with the operation of our extruder and ensuring the sanitation of our work areas to meet the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Extruder Operator in the day-to-day operation of the plant, ensuring seamless production and minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with the Meat Room and Mill teams to ensure that our products meet the highest specifications, quality, and safety standards.
  • Assist with the setup and calibration of the extruder, die plates, and knives to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
  • Conduct regular inspections of our products to ensure they meet customer specifications, density, and size requirements.
  • Follow instructions from the Extruder Operator and provide support as needed to ensure efficient production.
  • Clean and maintain the extruder, conveyors, and other plant machinery to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues to minimize downtime and ensure product quality.
  • Participate in team efforts to maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety protocols.

Requirements:

  • Able to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to obtain a Fork/Truck license.
  • Excellent trouble-shooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Computer literacy and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced production environment and adapt to changing priorities.
