Job Overview

Border States Paving, Inc., a reputable asphalt paving enterprise, is currently seeking a qualified Asphalt Plant Operations Assistant. This position is seasonal and full-time, with potential for year-round employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the daily management of a hot-mix asphalt facility utilizing advanced computerized systems.
  • Handle the receipt and distribution of raw materials and asphalt products.
  • Participate in the manufacturing process of asphalt products, including conducting laboratory tests and inspections.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure proper upkeep of plant equipment.
  • Occasionally operate heavy machinery, such as loaders.

Adherence to safety protocols and company policies is essential. A valid driver's license is required for operating company vehicles and equipment.

Compensation: Competitive hourly wage plus a fringe benefit of $20.65 per hour, which covers health insurance premiums and pension contributions.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in maintenance or repair within an asphalt plant is required.
  • Prior experience in asphalt plant operations is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, mathematical proficiency, and effective communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces is necessary.
  • Proficiency in computer usage for data entry and retrieval is required.
