Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled HR Generalist to support our expanding organization. This role is pivotal in fostering a positive workplace environment and ensuring compliance with employment regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the HR Manager and relevant stakeholders to conduct thorough investigations and prepare detailed summaries.
  • Serve as a primary resource for employees and management to promote effective employee relations.
  • Assist in job evaluations and manage salary administration processes.
  • Analyze and interpret data from the HR Information System (HRIS) to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Support various administrative functions related to employee benefits, including managing leaves of absence and compliance with workers' compensation regulations.
  • Compile and submit necessary employee and benefits data.
  • Coordinate the distribution of materials for benefits, training sessions, surveys, and other communications.
  • Aid in preparing and delivering updates on benefits changes and training to staff.
  • Participate in the onboarding process and assist with various HR duties related to new hires.
  • Provide assistance to the HR Manager and department on diverse tasks, duties, and special projects.
  • Ensure adherence to federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Occasional travel may be required within the region.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field; an Associate degree may be considered with substantial HR experience.
HR certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR are preferred.

Experience in the construction or transportation sectors is advantageous.

Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

Essential Skills

  • Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with UKG is a plus.
  • Proven ability to conduct fair and thorough employee investigations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational capabilities and the ability to work independently under pressure.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Experience with union environments is a plus.
  • A genuine passion for human resources and supporting employees.
