Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the HR Manager to conduct thorough investigations and prepare detailed summaries.
  • Serve as a primary resource for employees and management to promote effective employee relations.
  • Support job evaluation processes and oversee salary administration.
  • Analyze and interpret HRIS data to drive operational efficiency.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to employee benefits, including leaves of absence and compliance with regulations.
  • Compile and coordinate necessary employee and benefits data.
  • Facilitate the distribution of training materials, surveys, and other essential communications.
  • Assist in presenting updates and training on benefits to employees.
  • Participate in onboarding processes and integration of various HR functions.
  • Provide assistance to the HR Manager with special projects and daily tasks.
  • Ensure adherence to federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Willingness to travel as required for business needs.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field; an Associate degree may be considered with relevant experience.
  • Preferred HR accreditation such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
  • Experience in the construction or transportation sectors is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

Skills Required

  • Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with UKG is a plus.
  • Proven ability to conduct fair and thorough employee investigations.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently under pressure.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Experience with union environments is beneficial.
  • A genuine passion for supporting employees and enhancing workplace culture.
