Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the HR Manager to conduct thorough investigations and prepare detailed summaries.
- Serve as a primary resource for employees and management to promote effective employee relations.
- Support job evaluation processes and oversee salary administration.
- Analyze and interpret HRIS data to drive operational efficiency.
- Manage administrative tasks related to employee benefits, including leaves of absence and compliance with regulations.
- Compile and coordinate necessary employee and benefits data.
- Facilitate the distribution of training materials, surveys, and other essential communications.
- Assist in presenting updates and training on benefits to employees.
- Participate in onboarding processes and integration of various HR functions.
- Provide assistance to the HR Manager with special projects and daily tasks.
- Ensure adherence to federal and state employment laws and regulations.
- Willingness to travel as required for business needs.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field; an Associate degree may be considered with relevant experience.
- Preferred HR accreditation such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
- Experience in the construction or transportation sectors is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
Skills Required
- Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with UKG is a plus.
- Proven ability to conduct fair and thorough employee investigations.
- In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently under pressure.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Experience with union environments is beneficial.
- A genuine passion for supporting employees and enhancing workplace culture.
