Position Summary:

The Music Rights Solutions Manager is an integral part of the Technical Operations team, dedicated to developing and maintaining music rights platforms that align with NBCUniversal's daily music operations. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders across studio and legal departments to enhance music and rights applications, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with studio business teams to gain insights into content creation, marketing, distribution, and the associated rights management requirements.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on the digital music rights platform and related tools, facilitating business administrative functions such as music clearances, contracting, publishing, and cue sheet management.
  • Drive technological and process enhancements that align with broader strategic objectives of the company.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify opportunities for improving decision-making processes and enhancing analytical capabilities.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to define and prioritize project requests, leading discovery and design sessions while documenting functional requirements and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with enterprise technology teams to develop reporting solutions and advanced analytics products that provide valuable business insights.
  • Oversee technical teams, reviewing designs and ensuring deliverables align with business requirements.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies in cloud-based systems and enterprise solutions, understanding industry standards and how technology can improve operational efficiencies.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in managing medium to large-scale implementations, particularly in CRM, Rights Management, and Music systems, with at least 4 years in a leadership capacity.
  • At least 6 years of experience in a business solutions or product role, engaging directly with business stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills, capable of synthesizing input from various sources and articulating technical recommendations that influence key architectural and business decisions.
  • Familiarity with cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and experience integrating them with traditional hosting models.
  • Proficient in reporting tools such as Power BI, MicroStrategy, or Tableau.
  • A collaborative team player who can leverage resources and skills across diverse functional and technical domains.
  • Understanding of IT project management methodologies and software development life cycle (SDLC) processes, including Agile Scrum and Waterfall.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all organizational levels.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the Media & Entertainment industry and/or distribution of packaged media.
  • A passion for learning new technologies and actively participating in the development and implementation of solutions.
  • Experience with AI or machine learning platforms.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teams across multiple regions and time zones.
