Job Summary

James Fisher Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer with expertise in control systems to join our team in Loveland, CO. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing electrical control systems throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Develop electrical and control system design solutions based on engineering principles and present solutions to customers.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to external and internal customers.
  • Problem-Solving: Interpret client requirements, identify and address design parameters and engineering problems.
  • System Selection: Assist projects in selecting appropriate electrical devices given environmental, technical, and packaging issues.
  • Customized Solutions: Design and develop customized solutions including manufacturing automation and safety systems.
  • Project Management: Maintain project scope and identify project creep.
  • System Validation: Support manufacture, build, and validation of systems which include hydraulics, pneumatics, servos, VFD's, relays, communication networks, touchscreens HMIs, pushbuttons, and robotic integration.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, control, and process issues on live systems as well as simulations.
  • Documentation: Create customer documentation such as user manuals, programming diagrams, network diagrams, electrical schematics, and drawings.
  • Program Architecture: Ability to architect programs that are simple to test, well-documented, and versatile.
  • Building Automation: Implementing Building Automation Systems.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in nuclear, high-hazard remote, or special-purpose machinery design.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with MS Office, and programming of various manufacturers PLCs.
  • Software Skills: Minimum 5 years' experience with AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Preferred experience with regulatory compliance and hazardous locations.
  • Export-Controlled Items: This position may require the incumbent to work with export-controlled items.
Working Conditions

Primarily an office environment with work periodically performed in the fabrication/machine shop and outdoor testing areas. Depending on the project, there may be occasional travel to customer job sites.

Physical Requirements
  • Computer Work: Must be able to work on a computer (standing or sitting) for most of the day and use standard office equipment.
  • Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with team members, customers, and vendors.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Occasionally lift and carry objects, materials, or equipment, typically up to 25-50 pounds.
  • Physical Activity: Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and crawling to access and inspect equipment or systems.
