Job Description

Spectre Primer Technologies is seeking an experienced Thin Film Engineer to join our research and development team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the development and optimization of thin film coatings using large-scale sputtering tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coating Equipment Operation: Operate coating equipment to produce high-quality thin film coatings for various applications.
  • Process Optimization: Monitor and optimize coating and chamber parameters to ensure process control, minimize stress, and maximize adhesion and film quality.
  • Materials Preparation: Prepare chambers and materials for coating, including substrate loading and coating startup and finish.
  • Analysis and Troubleshooting: Perform analysis of coated materials and troubleshoot equipment or process issues to ensure optimal coating performance.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Physics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field with a strong focus on glow discharge processes.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience working directly with vacuum coaters, with a preference for large drum coater experience.
  • Skills: Extensive magnetron sputtering experience, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education: Master's degree in Physics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Familiarity with thermites and pyrotechnics.
Work Environment:

This is a full-time position based at our Loveland, Colorado location. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some weekends and evenings required. There may be occasional travel to our Corporate facility in Melbourne, FL.
