Position Summary
We are seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer for our Loveland, CO location. This role involves fulfilling mechanical engineering project requirements related to hydraulic power units, valve actuation systems, and hydraulic protection system design. Responsibilities include design for manufacturing, 2D CAD drafting, and 3D modeling of mechanical and hydraulic assemblies, along with analysis and technical specifications of system components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components for control systems in turbomachinery, ensuring compliance with customer and safety requirements.
  • Create intricate hydraulic manifolds and valve actuators, focusing on functionality and material selection while producing 3D models and 2D prints for machining.
  • Develop custom brackets and fixtures for integrating control components into existing systems.
  • Specify components and prepare bills of materials for procurement, alongside detailed CAD drawings for assembly and documentation.
  • Assemble and test mechanical components, developing and executing test plans, including customer witness tests.
  • Assist with system start-up, troubleshooting, and documentation development.
  • Conduct training sessions for customer personnel, including operators and engineers.
  • Engage in control system integration projects across various industries, including power generation and chemical processing.
  • Exhibit project management capabilities and self-management skills for complex projects, alongside strong communication skills to foster good relationships.
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as paperwork and document management.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred. An Associate's degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent experience may be acceptable.
Experience: 0-3 years of relevant experience is preferred, with exposure to:

  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, fluid flow, and piping principles.
  • Machining principles and material properties.
  • Safe operation of hand and power tools for machinery assembly and testing.
  • Familiarity with turbomachinery and auxiliary equipment in industrial settings is advantageous.
  • Experience with design software such as AutoCAD or Inventor is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 30% for customer site visits.

Physical Requirements
Ability to see, hear, speak clearly, and perform tasks requiring dexterity, including lifting and climbing.

Work Environment
Standard office and shop environments, along with diverse industrial settings. Frequent use of computers and tools is expected.
