Job Title: Linux Systems Administrator

GovCIO is seeking a highly skilled Linux Systems Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our Linux servers, ensuring they are running smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain Linux servers, including hardware, operating system, and utilities
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for server-related issues
  • Assist with server migrations, performance tuning, and analysis
  • Monitor and maintain system security and compliance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with other systems
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5-8 years of experience in Linux systems administration
  • Strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and related technologies
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
  • VMware virtualization experience
  • Database administration experience (Informix)
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with hardware support (HP Blades and Hitachi Storage)
