The Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer serves as a subject matter expert, possessing extensive knowledge of diverse Linux operating systems within medium to large enterprises.

This role demands technical proficiency in installation, maintenance, evaluation, optimization, monitoring, customer support, and security in accordance with established practices.

The Senior Linux Engineer must thrive under pressure and adapt to varying environments to ensure the delivery of highly available systems to our clients.


Program:
OMDAC-SWACA. This position includes company-sponsored housing and transportation, a completion bonus, and a tuition reimbursement program. Candidates must meet all necessary requirements to legally work in the designated location.

Responsibilities:

- Execute daily application management tasks, including troubleshooting, deploying updates, and optimizing performance settings.

- Oversee the installation and maintenance of operating systems and application server configurations on Linux servers and associated equipment across all networks.

- Provide expert technical support for existing and expanding Linux servers, services, system upgrades, and equipment acquisitions.

- Manage system/server resources, focusing on performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability of Linux systems.

- Conduct regular system maintenance to address vulnerabilities and ensure compliance.

- Collaborate with security teams to perform assessments and mitigate vulnerabilities.

- Utilize the ServiceNow ticketing system to create and track system issues and requests.

- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for Linux configurations, system architectures, and troubleshooting protocols.

- Work collaboratively with all departments to identify product requirements and ensure timely delivery of compatible systems.

- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.


Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, MIS, IS, Engineering, or a related field. Candidates must adhere to established standards and maintain at least one baseline certification and one computing environment certification.
Authorized Certifications:
- IAT Level: IAT III Baseline: Cisco
- CCNP: Security (not eligible as a dual qualifier)
- CompTIA CASP+ ce, ISACA CISA, ISC2 CISSP (or Associate), GIAC GCED, GIAC GCIH
- Computing Environment: Red Hat Certified System Administration (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA), SUSE Certified Engineer (SCE), Oracle Linux 8 Advanced System Administration.

Experience:
- A minimum of ten years of experience in administrative and technical roles, demonstrating the ability to perform technical, managerial, or analytical work involving management information systems.

- Hands-on experience with Linux technologies in medium to large environments is essential.


Skills & Technology:

- Ability to ensure all systems are configured according to established policies.

- Proficient in managing asset documentation for accreditation and authorization.

- Skilled in assessing networking requirements and providing effective solutions.

- Capable of making accurate and independent decisions under pressure.

- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

- Experience in a customer service-oriented environment is preferred.
