Job Description

Ruhrpumpen, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Regional Distribution Sales Manager to lead the growth of our distribution and OEM sales in the West Coast region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing our current network and identifying new channel partners to increase market share and meet sales goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grow the indirect sales channel and distribution segment, as well as OEM accounts, to increase revenue and market share.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of our current channel and identify opportunities for improvement through joint sales calls and other contact methods.
  • Identify, interview, and propose new distributors to achieve sales goals and expand our reach in the West Coast region.
  • Manage and support our existing distributors, providing corrective measures and terminating ineffective channel partners as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and utilize our CRM system to track growth and performance.
  • Assist distributors in increasing their competency in Ruhrpumpen products, processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide feedback to the North American Distributor Sales Manager on distributor sales performance, expenses, competitive information, product development needs, and pricing information.
  • Maintain open communication with distributors to discuss goals, performance, promotional materials, campaigns, advertising, inventories, obsolescence, service, and new products.
  • Ensure sales objectives are met relative to market conditions and competitive factors.
  • Collaborate with Market Managers to identify, establish, and develop distribution channels to increase penetration.
  • Organize sales training meetings and assist distributor personnel with specific sales and application issues.
  • Complete and follow up with the Target Account Form program for each distributor salesperson.
  • Assist distributor sales personnel with customer calls to penetrate accounts and grow territory sales.

Requirements:

  • Willingness and availability to travel up to 60-70% of the time within the region, covering a large geographical area and requiring overnight travel.
  • Excellent understanding of the Distribution Sales Channel and ability to support company growth.
  • Ability to respond with a strong sense of urgency and care to distributor and customer requests, inquiries, and problems.
  • Ability to maintain positive and constructive relationships both internally and externally, even under difficult circumstances.
  • At least 3 years' experience in pumps and related products.
