Job Summary

The Coordinating Teacher for EC Process is responsible for managing and completing the evaluation process for determining if students meet the criteria as a student with a disability. This role requires expertise in eligibility determination, discipline procedures, and headcount requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate and schedule evaluation consideration and manifestation determination review meetings.
  • Administer and interpret educational assessments to determine eligibility and placement.
  • Conduct academic assessments, interpret results, and write behavior support plans.
  • Complete required paperwork for initial eligibility considerations, reevaluation meetings, and manifestation determination review meetings.
  • Manage transfer student eligibility process and administer educational assessments.
  • Act as a liaison between school and assigned Compliance Coordinating Teacher.
  • Assign case managers for all students in EasyIEP.
  • Coordinate headcount responsibilities with school administration, case managers, and central office.
  • Participate in central office meetings and communicate compliance updates to school staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education.
  • Current Special Education license.
  • 3-5 years teaching students with disabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Special Education.
  • 2-3 years' experience monitoring compliance.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of special education instructional and diagnostic techniques.
  • Knowledge of current laws and regulations pertaining to students with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of child development and developmental disabilities.
  • Expertise in eligibility determination process and discipline procedures.
  • Ability to conduct and interpret educational assessments.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and establish cooperative working relationships.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
