Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire System Technician to join our team at Tampa International Airport. As a Multitrades Worker III, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire suppression equipment in new or retrofit projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install fire suppression equipment in new or retrofit projects
  • Makes corrective repairs to existing fire sprinkler systems
  • Assesses systems with impairments to determine the correct plan of action for repair
  • Maintains a firm understanding of fire prevention and life safety
  • Follows fire sprinkler installation design plans and communicates needed design changes to fit site requirements
  • Interprets system blueprints and fits pipes to meet the needs of various sprinkler systems
  • Delivers materials to the job site and performs minor fabrication as needed
  • Utilizes hand tools, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic power tools
  • Works alone or with other crew members under the direction of a supervisor
  • Flexible shift work and willingness to work overtime when needed
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, as well as extensive understanding of fire codes
  • Knowledge of pipefitting, and related fire protection codes and standards
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and proper attire
  • Willingness to be a team player and provide World Class customer service
  • Ability to perform look ahead planning for job needs, such as labor and material requirements
  • Ability to work with technology-based systems to complete work with operational systems
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • At least 3 years of experience with fire systems and pipefitting
  • Valid driver's license, in accordance with HCAA policy
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Ability to climb ladders and operate aerial lifts
  • Strong mechanical background preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to pass a drug test and background check
