Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lead Family Service Worker to join our team at Community Teamwork Inc. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing supervisory case management to Family Service Workers, promoting family engagement and school readiness, and working closely with education staff and center directors to achieve program goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct supervision to Family Service Workers, including coaching, mentoring, observation, and feedback.
  • Take a lead role in hiring and onboarding new Family Service Workers.
  • Provide case management support to families with significant needs, working with other education staff to develop plans to support families and children.
  • Assess training and professional development needs of Family Service Workers and participate in the development and implementation of staff training plans.
  • Monitor ongoing case management of families served by assigned Family Service Workers and ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and Head Start Act.
  • Conduct periodic reviews to ensure complete and confidential record keeping systems for families and children are maintained.
  • Oversee development and implementation of Parent Committee meetings and other Family Engagement activities.
  • Cultivate relationships with agency and community partners to ensure families receive needed services.
  • Work closely with Center Directors and Assistant Center Directors to ensure program, family, and child school-readiness goals are met.
  • Act as a liaison with the Department of Children and Families.
  • Participate in bi-monthly Family Support meetings/trainings.
  • Coordinate and participate in recruitment activities.
  • Complete annual Performance Appraisals for assigned staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in human services, social work, counseling, or education field required.
  • Experience with and desire to work with low-income, culturally diverse, and at-risk families and individuals preferred.
  • Experience with Head Start programming and structures.
  • Previous counseling or case management experience with families in an education, health, or social service capacity.
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to motivate staff.
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient computer skills required in basic computer software and data collection systems.
  • Excellent crisis management skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and confidentiality of information.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Must be able to show immunity to MMR and have a recent physical.
  • CORI/DCF review prior to employment.
