Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Relationship Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with commercial clients, identifying new business opportunities, and driving growth through needs-based selling techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial banking principles, excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients, identifying new business opportunities and driving growth through needs-based selling techniques.
  2. Work closely with internal stakeholders, including product specialists and commercial portfolio managers, to develop and implement sales strategies.
  3. Responsible for completing outbound phone calls and in-person calls with assigned relationship clients and new clients.
  4. Participate in joint business calls with product specialists from other business lines within Sandy Spring Bank and Sandy Spring Bancorp subsidiaries.
  5. Responsible for developing loan business with new and established clients, working closely with assigned Commercial Portfolio Manager and Small Business Lending Unit to negotiate and structure loan transactions.
  6. Meets expectations in generating non-interest income for the company through sale of fee-based products, such as treasury management products, trust, insurance, and retirement plans.
  7. Generates new deposits through needs-based selling to new business prospects and existing business clients.
  8. Partners with Commercial Portfolio Manager and Small Business Lending Unit to be mindful of loan delinquencies and/or future payoffs, responsible for growth of loan portfolio to increase interest income for the company.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a commercial lending environment, with a strong understanding of commercial banking principles.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to consider alternative courses of action and their consequences.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
