Position Overview

SAIC is in search of a seasoned Senior Capture Manager to spearhead growth and capture strategies within the Space and Intelligence Business Group. This role entails overseeing and managing one to three pursuits, taking full ownership and responsibility for the evolution of proposed solutions through the Corporate Business Development and Capture Management Processes. Key responsibilities include strategy formulation, competitive analysis, partnership development, and pricing strategies to create compliant and compelling proposals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and lead initial capture efforts to build a robust pipeline that aligns with the growth objectives of the Space Business Group. The Director will also engage in strategic initiatives with USSF to shape growth strategies aimed at securing new business awards in Defense Space as a space system integrator.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding and experience in capturing development and integration programs for space platforms and ground systems, particularly with USSF clients such as SSC and SDA.
  • Provide leadership in executing effective capture plans, adhering to established internal processes and utilizing standard tools, with a focus on win strategies, themes, and value propositions.
  • Manage and lead capture teams effectively, ensuring clear communication of resource needs and leveraging assigned resources for successful solution and proposal development.
  • Gather, assess, and validate customer requirements to inform capture strategies.
  • Evaluate potential competition and assess strengths and threats through competitive analysis.
  • Translate customer requirements into a robust win strategy, ensuring thorough testing and validation, and advance this strategy through management and technical design.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to maintain operational excellence, resolve conflicts, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Identify gaps in strategies and develop plans to address weaknesses and mitigate risks, creating unique differentiators.
  • Conduct and participate in various reviews, including gate, pricing, teaming, and capture reviews, while documenting lessons learned.
  • Execute teaming strategies and negotiate partnerships and strategic alliances.
  • Manage assigned captures from a portfolio of opportunities, acting as the opportunity owner.
  • Drive the development and completion of essential bid artifacts for proposal creation, ensuring the integrity of the win strategy through participation in color reviews.
  • Assume accountability for advancing opportunities toward high win probability while managing budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 18 years of experience in capture management or related business roles within the Civil/Commercial and/or Space sectors.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Eligibility to obtain a TS clearance is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, with 18 years of experience; relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Extensive knowledge and demonstrated success in the capture process, with a solid understanding of various contract types and payment structures.
  • Ability to respond quickly to proposals with short turnaround times and engage with customers effectively.
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to interact at the highest corporate levels are essential.
  • Proven proficiency in capture management based on industry best practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and business acumen.
  • Confidence in communicating with senior executives and working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support capture efforts.
