As a Senior Systems Engineering Lead, you will play a pivotal role in a dedicated Systems Engineering team focused on the design, development, implementation, testing, and training of command and control systems tailored for our defense personnel.

This position is part of the Space & Airborne Systems (SAS) division, which comprises a team of skilled professionals renowned for their technical expertise and collaborative engineering approach.

In this role, you will leverage your systems engineering expertise in a Java product ownership capacity, enabling you to significantly influence critical programs and projects that serve our clients' needs.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee technical solutions through collaboration with various teams, partners, vendors, and customers at the mission level.
Support programs by implementing SAFe methodologies.
Lead the design and development of system/subsystem products under the mentorship of senior technical personnel.
Engage with customers and provide valuable insights to project managers regarding programmatic and technical deliverables.
Recognized as a subject matter expert and thought leader with extensive experience across multiple domains. Communicate effectively within and outside the organization to persuade leadership to adopt new practices, methodologies, and concepts. Develop or advocate for new systems, concepts, or technologies. Propose strategies that directly influence the achievement of overarching business or functional objectives.
Provide guidance, coaching, and training to colleagues across the organization within your area of expertise. Responsible for managing large, complex project initiatives of strategic significance to the organization, involving extensive cross-functional teams.
Communicate with both internal and external stakeholders, including larger clients or vendors. Work to persuade others to accept the team's perspectives and endorse new concepts, practices, and methodologies. Regularly conduct briefings for senior leaders and clients. Acknowledged as an internal expert and thought leader in your field with broad experience across various job functions.
Tasked with enhancing existing processes or establishing new systems through significant conceptualization, reasoning, and interpretation. Develop or champion innovative concepts or technologies.

Opportunities for problem-solving and innovation often involve complex considerations of variables that affect multiple functions and/or businesses.

Conduct thorough analyses to understand the root causes of issues.
Recommend strategies that will directly influence the achievement of overall business or functional results. Establish tactics for the group with short- to mid-term impacts on outcomes (e.g., 1-2 years). Propose new products, processes, policies, standards, or operational plans in alignment with job function strategy.
Able to lead the design and execution of Acceptance, System Level, Integration, and Unit test phases, with a strong emphasis on test automation to support Behavior Driven Development.
Management of geographically dispersed teams.
Role will require consent to Polygraph.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience.
Active TS/SCI security clearance.
Experience with SAFe or other large-scale Agile implementations.
Experience with Java.

Previous Poly clearance
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment with government clients and other contractors.
Ability to negotiate solutions among functional groups (Systems Engineering, Mission Engineering, Software Engineering, etc.).
Demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills through relevant work experience.
Strong coordination and organizational skills with a focus on detail.
Organized and detail-oriented.
Familiarity with tools such as Cucumber/Gherkin, Playwright or Selenium, Grafana, Prometheus, Junit, and experience with MBSE tools.
