About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our team at Newmark Ltd. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for providing financial support to our property management teams and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for a portfolio of commercial properties.
  • Accounting and Auditing: Conduct financial audits, reviews, and analyses to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) regulations.
  • Client Support: Provide exceptional customer service to property managers and clients, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with the accounting team to develop and implement process improvements, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations.
  • Training and Development: Mentor and train new accounting team members, sharing knowledge and expertise to ensure growth and cross-training within the department.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of previous accounting experience, preferably in a commercial property management or real estate accounting environment.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Excel and Outlook. Experience with computerized ERP systems, such as Yardi or MRI, is a plus.
  • Qualifications: Understanding of GAAP and FASB regulations. Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to analyze and problem-solve effectively.
