Solar Operations and Maintenance Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Solar Operations and Maintenance Supervisor to manage our solar projects on the West Coast. This individual will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day activities of our electrical team, including in-house and subcontractor electrical technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of electrical technicians to ensure timely and efficient completion of solar site maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Liaise with customers, engineers, manufacturers, and field employees to ensure effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Provide technical support for field technicians, including troubleshooting, inspecting, testing, and repairing solar site equipment.
  • Order and schedule the delivery of tools, equipment, and materials needed for projects.
  • Lead on-site staff, sub-contractors, and other parties to ensure safe and efficient project execution.
  • Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures to protect personnel and the public.
  • Recognize and mitigate safety hazards, following safety guidelines for personal protection and protection of others.
  • Read and interpret instruction manuals, blueprints, and control system drawings to apply knowledge to daily tasks.
  • Complete written and electronic records to document work progress and completion.
  • Supervise and train apprentice electricians and coworkers to teach proper and safe use of tools and maintenance procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the success of our solar operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of PV solar operations and maintenance experience.
  • At minimum, CA Journeyman's Electrical License.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing, issued by the state of residence.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Proven experience supervising field operations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and ability to work in numerous Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Ability to work in different environmental conditions.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Two years of industrial electric/electronic maintenance experience in the repair, inspection, testing, installation, and/or maintenance of related electrical/electronic equipment.
  • Knowledge of electricity, voltage, and current relationships for both AC and DC circuits.
  • Ability to successfully complete position training and testing requirements.
  • OSHA training and certification preferred.
  • Flexibility for 'on call' support or varied schedule needs.
