Position Overview

We are in search of a skilled Estimator to enhance our operations at Ranger Roofing and Solar. The ideal candidate will utilize data collected by our technicians to execute precise calculations, acquire supplier quotations, draft proposals, and engage with clients to drive business growth. A robust background in commercial roofing estimation is essential, with additional experience in bidding for commercial maintenance projects and solar installations being a significant advantage.

We offer the flexibility of fully remote work or a hybrid model that includes client and job site visits. For those Estimators/Project Managers who engage with clients, we provide a company vehicle and credit card to facilitate business development.

Our compensation package includes a competitive base salary along with commission opportunities for the right candidate. We are particularly interested in experienced Estimators or Project Managers who can bring an existing client portfolio.

Key Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Estimator in the commercial roofing sector
  • Knowledge of building codes relevant to the Los Angeles and Southern California regions
  • Comprehensive understanding of commercial roofing systems, maintenance practices, and applicable regulations
  • Excellent communication skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong organizational abilities, capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Exceptional negotiation skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with project teams and stakeholders
  • Proficient in interpreting technical documents, including work orders and safety regulations
  • Capability to provide conceptual estimates based on historical data
  • Team-oriented mindset
  • Familiarity with general contracting practices
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of construction estimating and scheduling methodologies
  • Demonstrated managerial competencies suitable for this role
  • Proficient in PC usage
  • Experience with estimating software such as EDGE or similar
  • Familiarity with budgeting, change orders, and RFIs

Core Responsibilities

  • Focus on estimating and managing primarily single-ply roofing projects, along with shingles, metal, and tile roofing
  • Experience in estimating repair and service work for commercial roofing
  • Report directly to the CEO as the Estimator/Project Manager
  • Conduct pre-construction cost assessments
  • Prepare competitive contract bids
  • Develop project estimates
  • Handle submittals and cost analysis
  • Price labor and materials accurately
  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Process change orders efficiently
  • Work with various roofing materials including TPO, EPDM, PVC, metals, and shingles
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and clients
  • Collaborate with management to comprehend project scopes and translate them into the estimating process
  • Address client concerns with expert solutions

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $90,000 - $150,000 per year
