PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Mortenson is currently seeking a qualified Solar Electrical Journeyperson with a minimum of 4 years of experience in the industrial electrical sector. This role requires strong leadership and training capabilities in solar electrical operations. Adherence to safety protocols is paramount, necessitating a thorough understanding of all electrical safety regulations, procedures, and practices. Responsibilities may include conducting DC and MV terminations, energization, working with conduit, and performing splicing among various electrical tasks.

The base compensation for this position is $53.65 per hour.

KEY RESULT AREAS (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

A. Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand and power tools.
B. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
C. Test electrical systems and circuit continuity in wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure system compatibility and safety.
D. Install, repair, and maintain motors, transformers, generators, lights, appliances, circuits, wiring, and other electrical system components in compliance with electrical codes and standards.
E. Review plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and repair or installation sequences.
F. Repair and maintain high voltage systems.
G. Organize work by receiving and reviewing work orders; gather necessary tools and supplies.
H. Read schematics, layout work, and install new service.
I. Troubleshoot electrical issues by replacing faulty components.

J. Maintain electrical systems through system testing and completing preventive maintenance tasks.
K. Ensure supplies are available by placing orders.
L. Uphold a safe work environment by following established standards and procedures; comply with relevant codes.
M. Enhance job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and reviewing technical publications.
N. Achieve maintenance and organizational goals by completing related tasks as necessary.
O. Contribute to team success by accomplishing related objectives as needed.
P. Build effective relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and load charts.

Education and Experience Requirements:
A. High school diploma or GED.
B. Minimum of two years of relevant experience.
C. Trade or technical school certification/diploma.
D. Successful completion of an apprentice aptitude test.
E. Union-specific training (if applicable).
F. Valid driver's license.
