Position Summary

The Solar Field Service Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining and repairing a diverse range of solar and battery energy systems within a designated service area. This position is particularly suited for individuals who enjoy outdoor work, travel, and possess strong organizational skills. Daily travel to various job sites is required, with the potential for extended stays at specific locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to service requests and perform maintenance on solar and battery systems, gaining familiarity with their operations through training and support.
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting of inverters and monitoring systems, as well as other components of solar PV and battery energy storage facilities.
  • Utilize and maintain testing devices and tools for calibration and repairs, ensuring accuracy and safety.
  • Document all work performed in the field using digital devices, providing detailed reports and visual evidence of findings.
  • Complete necessary paperwork related to service orders, inventory, and expense reports, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the work vehicle and equipment.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Participation in the Fitness for Duty Program is mandatory, including physical examinations and drug screenings.

Compensation

The starting compensation for this position is competitive, beginning at $35.00 per hour.

Candidate Profile

  • A willingness to learn and collaborate with team members is essential; prior experience in the solar industry is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong self-sufficiency and adaptability to changing work conditions are important traits.
  • Commitment to safety and reliability is crucial for success in this role.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for documenting and reporting findings.
  • Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license and a clean driving record is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems and safety protocols.
  • Experience with medium to high voltage systems and data communications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with digital reporting tools.
  • Certifications related to solar technology and equipment operation are a plus.
