Position Overview:
We are expanding our critical care advanced practice provider team and are in search of a Certified Nurse Practitioner or a Certified Physician Assistant to become part of our Critical Care service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver inpatient care for critically ill patients within the intensive care unit and other settings as a critical response provider.
- Collaborate with a team of over 20 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and more than 80 physicians, delivering exceptional care to critically ill patients throughout the healthcare system.
- Function as a primary provider within the critical care team, managing care in a mixed medical-surgical ICU with diverse patient acuity.
- Lead the adult Rapid Response team, providing urgent evaluations and treatment for adult patients, including inpatients and rehabilitation patients.
- Make rapid assessment and treatment decisions, consulting specialists as necessary and ensuring patients receive appropriate care levels.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or formal Adult Nurse Practitioner training program.
- Licensure with prescriptive authority through the appropriate medical or nursing boards.
- Certification or eligibility for certification through recognized professional organizations.
- Experience in a critical care environment, demonstrating leadership and management skills.
- Strong knowledge of pathophysiology, pharmacology, and acute care treatment protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an inpatient PA or NP.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
