Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Critical Care team at the University of Minnesota Medical Center-West Bank campus.
Key Responsibilities- Provide inpatient care for critically ill patients in the intensive care unit and beyond as a critical response provider.
- Function as a provider with our West Bank critical care team, providing direct patient care, consulting specialists, and coordinating care as appropriate.
- Lead the adult West Bank Rapid Response team, responding to emergent events and making rapid assessment and treatment decisions.
- Collaborate with critical care attendings and primary teams to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, utilizing advanced knowledge of pathophysiology, pharmacology, and acute care treatment of patients.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or formal Adult Nurse Practitioner training program.
- Licensed with prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice (PAs) or MN APRN license with prescriptive authority through MN Board of Nursing (NP's).
- Certified or eligible for certification through ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA.
- Experience in a critical care environment, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an inpatient PA or NP.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead Code Blue, Rapid Response, and Stroke Codes.
