Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioners to join our teams across the United States. This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will provide and coordinate patient care, provide education to patients and the public about illnesses, diseases, and health conditions, and work with patients, doctors, and other healthcare workers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency and primary care medicine, with a minimum of three years of experience as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP).
Responsibilities:- Provide high-level direct care to patients
- Determine the severity of illness or injury and initiate and provide rapid intervention in emergent, life-threatening conditions
- Attend and participate in meetings and task force groups to improve quality and outcomes, and communication of issues
- Ensure proper injury care and disease diagnosis, treatment, and recovery, and request necessary tests and follow-up visits and refer patients to specialists as necessary
- Stabilize, evaluate, and treat emergency patients
- Current and unrestricted license from any US State, District of Columbia, or US Territory to provide healthcare within scope of practice
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- American Heart Association - Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification is preferred
- DEA License
- Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or equivalent(s) is desired
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time. May require bending, stooping, and lifting up to 15 lbs.
Other Special Qualifications:- Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required
- Must relocate to project site for the duration of the contract
- Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance
