Job Overview

Position Title: Retail Sales Manager

Department: Military Sales

Reports To: Territory or Base Manager

Status: Part Time

Core Responsibilities: As a Merchandiser in military retail environments, your role involves a diverse set of tasks aimed at enhancing product visibility and driving sales. You will work closely with the Territory or Base Manager to identify products requiring attention on the shelves, including restocking, reordering, and ensuring compliance with merchandising standards.

Inventory Oversight:

  • Track inventory levels and ensure product availability in military retail locations.

Visual Merchandising:

  • Execute planograms and create visually appealing product displays to optimize placement within stores.

Marketing Initiatives:

  • Implement promotional strategies to boost sales and enhance product visibility.
  • Collaborate with management to design and execute in-store marketing efforts, including signage and product demonstrations.
  • Evaluate the success of promotions and refine strategies based on performance metrics.

Product Restocking:

  • Regularly replenish shelves with products supplied by S&K Sales.
  • Ensure proper display according to merchandising guidelines.
  • Maintain an organized product arrangement to maximize shelf space and visibility.
  • Communicate with management regarding inventory needs and restocking requirements.
  • Utilize the FIFO method to manage product rotation effectively.
  • Monitor expiration dates and remove outdated items promptly.

Product Presentation:

  • Ensure accurate pricing, labeling, and tagging of products with essential information.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of product displays.

Relationship Building:

  • Foster positive relationships with retail management and staff.
  • Maintain open communication with personnel to stay updated on changes or requirements.

Sales Insights:

  • Develop strong connections with store management to align sales strategies.
  • Collaborate with various teams to achieve common objectives.

Compliance Adherence:

  • Follow all retail regulations and safety protocols while on-site.
  • Ensure compliance with guidelines set by military retailers.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work Hours: Flexibility to work various shifts, including holidays.

Conditions: Potential for extended periods in cold storage areas or outdoor environments.

Equipment Utilization:

  • Access to email and personal communication devices.
  • Use of hand trucks and other equipment for product handling.

Mental and Physical Requirements:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.
  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods.
  • Capacity to lift up to 40 pounds.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Adaptability to procedural changes and cross-training in various operational areas.
