Job Overview

Position Title: Retail Sales Manager

Department: Military Sales

Reporting To: Territory or Base Manager

Status: Part Time

Core Responsibilities: As a Merchandiser in military retail environments, your role will involve a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing product management and maximizing sales. You will work closely with the Territory or Base Manager to pinpoint products requiring attention on the shelves, including restocking, reordering, and ensuring proper planogram execution.

Inventory Oversight:

  • Track stock levels and product availability within military retail outlets.

Planogram Implementation:

  • Execute visual merchandising strategies to ensure optimal product placement.

Marketing and Promotions:

  • Implement promotional initiatives to boost sales and enhance product visibility.
  • Collaborate with management to create in-store marketing strategies, including signage and product demonstrations.
  • Evaluate promotional effectiveness and refine strategies based on sales data.

Stock Management:

  • Regularly restock products provided by S&K Sales.
  • Ensure compliance with merchandising guidelines for product display.
  • Maintain organized product arrangements to optimize shelf space.
  • Communicate inventory needs with management for timely restocking.
  • Adopt the FIFO method to manage product freshness.
  • Regularly check expiration dates and remove outdated items.

Product Presentation:

  • Ensure accurate pricing and labeling of products.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of product displays.

Relationship Building:

  • Foster positive relationships with retail management and staff.
  • Stay updated on any changes or special requirements through regular communication.

Sales Evaluation:

  • Develop strong partnerships with store management.
  • Collaborate with teams across procurement, marketing, and management to align goals.

Compliance Adherence:

  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations while on-site.
  • Ensure adherence to specific guidelines set by military retailers.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work Hours: Flexibility to work various shifts, including holidays.

Conditions: Potential extended periods in cold storage areas.

Equipment Utilization:

  • Access to necessary technology for communication.
  • Utilization of hand trucks and other equipment for product handling.

Mental and Physical Requirements:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.
  • Physical capability to stand, sit, and lift up to 40 pounds.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Adaptability to procedural changes and cross-training opportunities.
